Students at W.S. Neal Elementary School will experience a romp through animal and clown acts as the Puppet Arts Theatre of Jackson, Miss., presents the Carnival of the Animals show on Tuesday, Nov. 14.
The production will be presented to students during two shows that will feature chickens on a seesaw; a six-foot tall bird; a recreation of the race between the elephant, tortoise and the hare; rabbits on a trampoline during the entertaining event.
The show, in the words of the French composer, Camille Saint-Saens, a grand zoological fantasy for orchestra. The Puppet Arts Theatre is inspired by this famous musical score that sets the show in a circus.
The Theatre group is devoted to bringing exciting and memorable performances to its audiences. Since 1968 this theater has thrilled children of all ages from Boston to Tampa and throughout the Southeast with magical and exciting theatrical experiences.
The Puppet Arts Theater is on the performing arts touring program of the Mississippi Arts Commission.
