The Brewton Mini Mites fell one step short of a Youth League Football title Saturday, as they fell in the championship game to Allbritton and Gant 13-0.
Allbritton and Gant took a 7-0 lead on the second play of the game and made that advantage stand up. Brewton's defense kept it a 7-0 game until it surrendered Allbritton and Gant's other touchdown with only three minutes left in the fourth quarter. The Mini Mites had strong defensive games from Joseph Carpenter, Ethan Tyree, Markail Mitchell and Kellyn Winn.
The Mini Mites' offense was kept out of the end zone despite the fact it was able to move the ball at times. Winn topped 100 yards in rushing for the game from his quarterback
position and received the Co-Most Valuable Player of the Game.
