Mrs. Ruth Killam Martin, 80, died Saturday, Nov. 25, 2006, at a local hospital. She was a native of Century, Fla., and a resident of Atmore for the past 62 years. She was retired from Southland Telephone Company after 35 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, E.E. Martin; her parents, Arthur and Ruby Killam; two brothers, William and Winfred Killam and a sister-in-law, Mildred Killam.
She is survived by one brother, Alton (Muriel) Killam of Bratt, Fla.; one sister-in-law, Geraldine (Bruce) Campbell of Century; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m. at Petty Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Joe Lee officiating. Burial followed at Godwin Cemetery with Petty Eastside directing. Pallbearers were Mike Killam, Scott Martin, David Hawkins, Jerry McElhaney, Cecil Ellis and Burton Wiggins.
