The Brewton Quality of Life Committee will be holding auditions Thursday, Dec. 28, from 3 to 7 p.m. for local talent at the T.R. Miller High School Auditorium for acts to perform at the first annual Brewton Songwriters Festival, which will be held Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, to benefit the Brewton City Park.
All proceeds will go towards the construction of a bandstand and outdoor theatre for the city park.
Six local acts will be chosen at these auditions to earn a position to perform at the Brewton Songwriters Festival which will include performances by Hank Adam Locklin Jr., Grayson Capps, Sawmill Band, and two Nashville songwriters.
There is no entry fee to audition - just bring your instruments and your talent and be prepared to perform two acts.
If you are chosen as one of the six winners, you will then need to prepare a 20-minute act to fill your performance slot at the Brewton Songwriters Festival Feb. 24.
The auditions held at the TR Miller High School Auditorium on Thursday, Dec. 28 from 3 to 7 p.m. will be open to the public with a $5 admission fee.
Please call Molly or Kelly by Dec. 15 at 251-867-7077 to pre-register for the audition.
