If you are a Girl Scout and enjoyed a great camping trip this fall, thank the United Fund.
As one of 14 agencies served by the contributions of the United Fund, the Brewton Girl Scouts are appreciative of the funds they receive.
With money earmarked for Girl Scouts by United Fund, a portion of the money goes directly to the scout troops with the remaining portion being passed along to the regional headquarters in Mobile.
If, after training and scholarships, there are any funds left in the contribution coffer, the group plans to take a spring camping trip.
The monies sent to the regional office help to cover the costs of additional leader training, Templeton said. Handout materials as well as the badge program are funded with those contributions.
