Mrs. Mary &#8220Little Mary” Gilmore, 88, died Thursday, Nov. 30, 2006, at a Santa Rosa County hospital. She was a native and former resident of Bratt, Fla. for most of her life, and a resident of Flomaton for the past 2 and one half years. She attended the Baptist church and was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Gilmore and a grandson, Johnny Busbee.
She is survived by her son, Kenny (Brenda) Gilmore of Seminole; four daughters, Gloria (Raymond) Wiley of Jacksonville, N.C., Ruby (Buck) Smith of Poplar Dell, Ala., Maxine (John) McCall of Bratt, Fla. and Margie (Frank) Busbee of Flomaton; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren; two brothers, L.C. Amerson of Virginia Beach, Va. and Eugene Amerson of Hurford, N.C. and three sisters, Minnie Roley of Davisville, Fla., Allie Myers of Merryville, La. and Shirley Whatley of Bratt, Fla.
Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 4, at 10 a.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Bevan and the Rev. Wallace Reid officiating. Burial followed at Godwin Cemetery with Petty Eastside Chapel directing. Pallbearers were Aaron Smith, Darrin Smith, Ken Busbee, Carl Ward, Mike McCall, Mitch McCall, Joey McCall and Steven Gilmore.
