A well-known Atmore resident was killed in a motorcycle accident Saturday, about 13 hours after another Atmore native was killed in a separate accident on the same Baldwin County roadway, officials said.
Louie Bryan Still, 40, of Atmore was pronounced dead at the scene after his 2005 Harley-Davidson motorcycle collided with a 1995 Ford truck driven by Tyler Munn, 16 of Summerdale on Old Brady Road.
According to Still's aunt, Ann Benner, he was on his way home from a Toy's for Tots toy drive that he and his motorcycle friends had just taken part in earlier that day.
Still was the manager of Atmore Appliances and Western Auto in Atmore that is owned by his parents Merrill and Pat Still.
More than 100 motorcyclists are expected to attend the 2 p.m. funeral service for Still that is being held today at McCullough Christian Center.
Danielle Denise Whatley, 21 of Perdido died in a separate accident about three quarters of a mile away from the scene of Still's accident on Old Brady Road at around 2:15 a.m. according to the state trooper's reports.
Whatley was the passenger in a 1997 Chevrolet Monte Carlo driven by Brian K. Davison, 33 of Bay Minette.
Whatley was pronounced dead at the scene while Davison, who was pulled from the wreckage, was transported to the University of South Alabama Medical Center in Mobile and was listed in critical condition.
According to published reports, Whatley's body was burned when the vehicle caught fire before passer bys were able to remove her from the vehicle.
