Mrs. Louise Blackmon Sanders, 62, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2006, at a local hospital. She was a native of Bratt, Fla.; and a resident of Atmore for the past 20 years. She attended the Pentecostal church and was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Sanders, and her parents, George and Lenora Blackmon.
She is survived by five daughters, Leah Sanders and Sherri Proctor, both of Farmville, Va., Shawn Sanders and Sandra Sanders, both of Flomaton, and Penny Slate of Atmore; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Florine Wiggins of Bratt and Janie Dews of Pensacola, Fla.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 9, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Theron Collingsworth officiating. Pallbearers were Logan Sanders, Joshua Powell, Jeremiah Powell, David Torrence, Jacob Haskew and Tim Slate.
