Tuesday's JDCC game now a home contest
The location of Tuesday's Jefferson Davis Community College men's basketball game against Alabama Southern has been moved from Monroeville to Brewton due to renovation work at the Alabama Southern gym. Game time will be 7 p.m.
JDCC will now make its road trip to Alabama Southern Feb. 8. Game time for that contest is 7:30 p.m.
ACCC softball awards
south fifth state berth
The Alabama Community College Conference has awarded the south division a fifth qualifying spot for the 2007 softball state tournament. The division had previously received four postseason qualifiers.
The additional berth will mean 13 teams will compete in this year's state tournament. The number of postseason berths for the league's north and central divisions will remain at four teams.
The south division's fifth berth applies to the 2007 season only.
WSN baseball sets tentative 2007 slate
The W.S. Neal Blue Eagles baseball team has announced its schedule for the 2007 season.
A spring break trip to a tournament at Alexander City and four regular season doubleheaders highlight the slate.
The four doubleheaders are against Class 4A Area 2 foes T.R. Miller, Hillcrest-Evergreen and Andalusia. The second game of the first twinbill against Hillcrest will be used as an Area tiebreaker. The second game of the second doubleheader against Hillcrest has no impact on the Area standings.
W.S. Neal will kick off its season Feb. 26 at Escambia County for a 6 p.m. contest. A junior varsity game at 4 p.m. will precede the varsity contest.
