Mr. Billy Ray Nowling, 64, died Monday, Jan. 15, 2007, in a Jay, Fla., hospital. He was a lifetime resident of the Flomaton community where he was of the Holiness faith. He had worked as a machine operator at Armstrong World Industries. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Leigh and Gracie Bell Nowling.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Courtney Nowling of Flomaton; a brother, Dennis (Janice) Nowling of Flomaton; and a sister, Janette (Jerry) Johnson of Flomaton.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 18, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. G.W. Birdsong officiating. Burial followed at Pleasant Home Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Michael Johnson, Jeffery Nowling, Greg Findley, Scott Newtin, Steve Turner and Gerald Bell.
