Mr. O.L. Wilder, 72, of Hwy. 29, died Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2007, at a local hospital after a brief illness. He was a native of Zion, La., and a former resident of Grand Bay, before moving to Brewton in 2001. He was a retired electrician with Ingall's Shipbuilding and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Blackmon Wilder of Brewton; his mother-in-law, Gladys Findley Blackmon of Brewton; three stepsons, Ricky Fuqua of Brewton, Franklin (Carolyn) Townsend of Philadelphia, Miss., and Felix (Dorcas) Townsend of Moss Point, Miss.; four stepdaughters, Janie (Lynn) Pope and Vickey McNeal, both of Philadelphia, Frances (Tommy) McMurray of Edenburg, Miss., and DeDe Edwards of Mississippi; 11 step-grandchildren; 22 step-great grandchildren and three step-great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial followed at Beulah Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
