Jackson bags Area Tournament MVP Award

T.R. Miller senior forward Wade Jackson collected his second tournament most valuable player award Monday when he claimed the top prize from the Class 4A Area 2 Tournament.
The 6-5 Jackson, who also won the MVP Award at the Escambia County Tournament, led the Tigers in scoring at the Area with 33 points. Sixteen of those came in the championship game victory over Andalusia. Jackson got nine of those points in the fourth quarter.
Jackson was joined on the squad by teammates Brandon Andrews, Kelly Stallworth and Terrelle Brooks.
Also selected were Andalusia's Malcolm Jenkins, DeAndre Wright and Nico Johnson, Hillcrest's Justin Holder and Blake Bryant and W.S. Neal's Jimmy Wilson and Chris Payne.
