Mr. Urban Ward, 92, of Ridge Road, died Saturday, March 10, 2007, in a local hospital after an extended illness. He was a native of Covington County, and a life long resident of Escambia County. He was a member of May Creek United Methodist Church and a retired carpenter from Hines Realty. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in World War II.
He is survived by two sons, Dann Ward of Furlong, Penn., and Brian Ward of Birmingham; two daughters, Diane Ward and Angie Ward, both of Brewton; four sisters, Myra Ward and Cleavie Stone, both of Mobile, Mary Dutcher of Fresno, Calif., and Marie Knauer of New Orleans; three grandchildren, Justin Ward, Joshua Ward and Hamilton Ward; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 13, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Frankie Phillips and the Rev. Floyd Dyal officiating. Burial followed at May Creek Cemetery on Ridge Road with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing
