Mrs. Lula Bell Kearley, 81, died Monday, May 7, 2007, at her residence in Flomaton. She was a lifetime resident of the Flomaton community. She retired from Monsanto where she worked as a drawtwist operator for 27 years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Day Lily Ladies and Little Escambia Baptist Church.
She is survived by a son, Woodrow (Judy) Courtney of Flomaton; two daughters, Dorothy (Bo) Brantley of Flomaton, and Sheila (Mike) Bickley of Marrietta, Ga.; a brother, Joe Lister of Flomaton; three sisters, Nora Lee Lambeth, Thelma Arrant and Marie Steele, all of Flomaton; 10 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Thursday, May 10, at 2 p.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home with the Rev. James Johnson and the Rev. Doug Hogg officiating. Burial followed at Catawba Cemetery near Brewton, with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Bo McCall, Micha McCall, Josh McCall, Stephen Waguespak, Wesley Parker and Jay Fischer. Honorary pallbearers were James Turner, Jack Carden, Jimmie Carden, Melvin Turner, Danny Higdon, Robert Holt, Hollis Chavers and Gerald Lambeth.
