Mr. Alan Joseph Johnson, 55, died Tuesday, May 22, 2007, at his residence. He was a native of Richland, S.C. and a resident of Flomaton for many years. He was a member of the United States Navy where he taught electronics mechanics. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and was preceded in death by his mother, Aleene Green and his brother, Ricky Johnson.
He is survived by two daughters, Tara Gandy and Lori (Stoney) Brock, both of Pensacola, Fla.; a sister, Regina Turk of Flomaton; three grandchildren, Mallory Brock, Natalie Gandy, and Luke Gandy; and his special family, Shannon Carnley, and Dixie and Michelle.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 25, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home chapel with Brother Doug Odom officiating. Burial followed at Cora Cemetery in Jay, Fla.,with military honors with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Stoney Brock, Rodney Brewer, Adam Johnson, Andy Taylor, Jimmy Baxton and Jesse Turk.
