Mr. Marcus Earl Coleman, 45, died Sunday, May 27, 2007. He was a native of Brewton and a former resident of Chicago, Ill. He was a graduate of Thornton Ridge High School and Eastern Illinois University. He received a scholarship with the ROTC and following graduation he was commissioned to Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. After leaving the military, he worked as an engineer and was employed with a construction company in Pensacola, Fla.
He is survived by his wife, Chiquita; a daughter, Anna Shay of Chicago; four sons, Marcus Duran and Donald Dustin of Chicago, and Kameron Earl and Mac Henry Earl of Brewton; one grandson, Donald Dalor of Chicago; his mother, Annie Paul of Richardson, Ill.; his father, Walter (Misty) Coleman of Brewton; a sister, Candance S. Coleman of Duluth, Ill.; a brother, Derrick Jones of Atlanta; two grandmothers, Eula Mae Powell of Brewton and Louise Paul of Rowlett, Ill.; a mother-in-law, Wildlean Carroll of Tampa, Fla.; a father-in-law, Michael (Yvonne) Lewis of Chicago, Ill.; and a number of other relaives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at Zion Fountain AME Zion Church with the Rev. Daniel Dozier officiating. Burial followed at Baptist Hill Cemetery with Christian Memorial Funeral Home directing.
