Mr. Dewitt Dove, 87, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, in Century, Fla. He was a retired deacon of the Pinebarren Baptist Church, retired from the Naval Air Station in Pensacola, Fla., a member of Sons of Confederate Veteran's Camp Blakeley, International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union, and a Little League coach.
He is survived by his wife of over 66 years, Evie D. Dove of Davisville; a son, Ronald (Judy) Dove of Davisville; three grandsons, Ronnie (Kelly) Dove of Flomaton, and Patrick (Laurie) Dove and Christopher (Jennifer) Dove, both of Davisville; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Ronnie Champion, the Rev. Aubret White, the Rev. Ronald Dove, and the Rev. Mike Harper officiating. Burial followed at Pnebarren Cemetery. Pallbearers were Ronnie Dove, Patrick Dove, Chris Dove, Tyler Dove, Shelbi Dove and Scott Francis. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Darby, Herman Hasselbrock, Fernie Faircloth, Raymond Norris and Calvin Davis.
