Allen Williams knows he will have to step up his level of play, but that goes with the territory when a player moves up to the collegiate level from high school competition.
The T.R. Miller Tigers second baseman will make that jump in the coming months when he joins the Alabama Southern Community College program located at Monroeville.
Williams batted .304 (24-for-79) with 15 RBIs, 18 runs scored and a perfect four-for-four in stolen base attempts this past spring for the Tigers.
Williams feels his speed will be one of the biggest assets he will be taking to the Monroeville school.
Williams is headed to an Alabama Southern program finished 46-12 overall and won the Alabama Community College Conference's south division championship this past spring.
Williams is the third T.R. Miller player from this past spring's team to commit to the collegiate level. Earlier infielder Baxley Raines signed with Troy University and pitcher Mackie Jackson inked with Jefferson Davis Community College.
Williams said he is leaning towards studying physical education and engineering in college.
