Volunteer workshop planned for hospice

Covenant Hospice is seeking compassionate volunteers who are interested in making a difference in the lives of patients and families facing life-limiting illnesses.  A volunteer training workshop will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday, July 9 at the Covenant Hospice office in Brewton. The office is located at 1023 Douglas Ave. in Suite 204.
Those potential volunteers who only have a little time to give can make a difference and are encouraged to participate at a level they feel is comfortable.  
Workshop topices will be discussing many ways in which volunteers can choose to get involved. Some areas of involvment include providing patient and family support, visiting nursing homes, being ambassadors and assisting with fundraising activities and office tasks.  
The workshop is offered free for participants and lunch will be provided.  
Volunteers are needed in  Escambia, Monroe and Conecuh counties.

Participants in the workshop should be ready to provide a valid drivers license and proof of insurance.
