A 3-year-old boy's injury - months after his sister was killed and he was attacked by a dog - has prompted a joint investigation by the Escambia County Sheriffs Department, the Escambia County Regional Child Advocacy Center and the Department of Human Resources, Sheriff Grover Smith said.
William &#8220T.J.” Kitlica, who will be 3 years old in two weeks, made a full recovery following the Friday afternoon incident at his home. The boy was discovered inside a vehicle at the home, and officials estimate he spent two hours in the hot afternoon temperatures.
Taylor Kitlica, who was 18 months old at the time of a rottweiler attack in late January, died as a result of those injuries. T.J. Kitlica was also attacked in the January incident but did not receive life-threatening injuries.
Gleaton said a call came into dispatchers just after 4 p.m. on Friday from a residence at 2775 McGougin Road stating the child had been found inside the closed vehicle.
A D.W. McMillan ambulance was dispatched to the home and transported the child to the Brewton facility. He was later transported to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., where he was treated and released, according to officials.
