Keeping Dogwood Hills golf course as is presents more pros than cons, city Parks and Recreation Director Gary Hill told Brewton City Council members Tuesday.
The city is considering selling the land to the Brewton Board of Education for use as a middle school.
Hill said there are pros and cons for each option, with the best option for the city being denying the board's request to purchase.
A petition circulating to save the course had 1,635 signatures as of Tuesday.
