Mrs. Barbara Ann Spellman Cotten, 68, of Davison Street, died Thursday, July 19, 2007, at a Pensacola hospital after an extended illness. She was a native and former resident of New Orleans, (Algiers) La., before moving to Brewton 35 years ago. She was a homemaker and previously employed in the sales department with Alston Electric. She was of the Roman Catholic faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest P. Spellman Sr. and Adele Stenger Spellman of New Orleans; two brothers, Ernest P. Spellman Jr. of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and Wayne J. Spellman, and her infant grandson, Riley Hinton Cotten.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Carl E. Cotten of Brewton, a son, Kelly (Rhonda) Cotten of Robertsdale; four daughters, Lisa (Rev. Robert) Allen of Satsuma, Shannon (David) McCallister of Bradenton, Fla., Erin (Jeffrey) Wolfe of Marietta. Ga., and Rebecca (Victor) Taylor of Pensacola, Fla.; seven grandchildren and an aunt, Ora Mae LeBlanc of Mandeville, La.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 22, at 2 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Father Adrian Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
