The Brewton Fire Department will begin flushing fire hydrants throughout the Brewton area during the coming weeks.
Testing could take two or three weeks depending upon weather conditions and the number of emergencies that require response by the fire department.
Weaver said the annual process of flushing and testing hydrants is done for some very good reasons.
Weaver said residents throughout the city should be paying special attention to their water during the next few weeks as the testing and flushing procedures are carried out.
Weaver said if laundry did becomes stained as a result of water problems, there is a way to fix the problem.
Weaver said anyone with problems during the flushing and testing period should call the Brewton Fire Department at 867-7165.
