W.S. Neal Blue Eagles football coach Blaine Hathcock has had his program follow a conditioning schedule that is similar to his two previous summers at the school with one notable difference.
They have used fewer days.
The Blue Eagles worked out three days in June just like last year. However, this year's July schedule has been trimmed from four days a week to three.
Forty players, which includes freshmen through seniors, are expected to complete the summer program. One disturbing part of that number for Hathcock is the small freshmen class.
W.S. Neal participated in three seven-on-seven competitions this summer. The Blue Eagles went 3-5 in a competition at Trinity Presbyterian and 1-2-2 in a home-and-home series with Northview, Fla.
The W.S. Neal skipper is pleased with the progress his players have made in the weight room this summer.
Hathcock said there is a transition period his players will have to make when they begin official practice Aug. 6.
