Four eyes are better than two when it comes to watching and coaching the W.S. Neal Blue Eagles linemen this season.
Jeff Haney will provide the extra set of eyes.
The 30-year-old Haney joins head coach Blaine Hathcock's staff after a three-year-stint at Escambia County High School, where he served as offensive line and defensive tackles coach. Haney, who was also the head softball coach at Escambia County, has also had coaching stints at Samson and his high school alma mater, De Funiak Springs, Fla.
Most of Haney's work with the offensive line will involve the centers.
Haney wants aggressiveness with his defensive linemen.
Haney said his transition to the W.S. Neal program has been fairly smooth so far.
Haney's former employer, Escambia County, and W.S. Neal both compete in the current Class 4A Area 1. Haney said that will help his preparation for W.S. Neal's opponents be a lot easier.
