Mrs. Mary Nowlin Jordan, 79, died Wenesday, July 25, 2007, in a Jay hospital. She was a native of Alexandria, Ala., and had been a resident of the Flomaton community for more than 50 years. She taught at Flomaton Elementary School for many years, was a volunteer tutor and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her son, Stephen Gregory Jordan; and her brother, James Wesley Nowlin.
She is survived by her husband, W.E. &#8220Nub” Jordan of Flomaton; her sister, Mildred Freeman of Alexandria and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, July 28, at 11 a.m. at Flomaton Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Flomaton Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Mike Wedgeworth, Mike Brown, Clint Patterson, Pep Parrish, Jerry Whatley and Junior Jordan.
