Mr. Austin Taylor, 87, died Friday, Aug. 3, 2007, at his residence. He was a native of Booneville and a retired farmer. He was a World War II veteran and was preceded in death by a son, Albert Austin Taylor; a grandson, Edwin Austin Taylor and a great-great-grandson, Matthew Baisden.
He is survived by his wife, Callie Johnson Taylor of Atmore; three sons, Teak (Bobbie) Taylor of Atmore, Kenneth (Patsy) Taylor of Brewton, and Rod (Joann) Taylor of Uriah; a daughter, Shelia (Steve) Pugh of Oak Grove, Fla.; a daughter-in-law, Patricia Taylor of Atmore; a brother, James Taylor of Brewton; a sister, Margene Allen of Pensacola, Fla.; a brother-in-law, Ernest Johnson of Brewton; one sister-in-law, Ethel Seals of Milton, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granchildren.
Services were held Monday Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Jimmy Dukes officiating. Burial followed at McCullough Cemetery with Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home directing. Active pallbearers were Jason Taylor, Justin Taylor, Stephen Pugh II, Clinton Pugh, Jimmy Baisden and Shannon Taylor.
