The way the T.R. Miller Tigers football team approached and handled the first week of practice pleased coach Jamie Riggs.
Riggs said his team is making progress, but not as much as it needs as it gears up for the Aug. 31 home and season opener against Clarke County.
The T.R. Miller skipper says neither offense nor defense has an upper hand on the other side of the ball after one week of practice.
Like all other Alabama High School Athletic Association football teams, T.R. Miller players went from t-shirts and shorts to full pads last Thursday.
Riggs said his team's starting lineup is taking shape.
Riggs hopes most, if not all the starting spots will be determined by the end of the week.
Riggs said the most uncertain area about his team so far is special teams.

Riggs indicated his staff's two new additions, defensive coordinator Chris Baxter and wide receivers coach Mikel Riggs, are adjusting to their roles.
