Mr. Chester Sheffield, 84, died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007 in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital. He was a native of Montgomery and had been a resident of Brewton for the past 35 years, coming from Pensacola. He served with the U.S. Army and was a master mechanic in the oil drilling industry. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Sheffield of Thibodaux, La., and Jim Sheffield of Riverview; two daughters, Linda Mann of Pinellas Park, Fla., and Gloria (Hank) Coleman of Flomaton; one brother, Arthur Sheffield of Hope Hull; seven sisters, Teresa Chick, Mary Stokes, and Jackie Sanders, all of Montgomery, Faye Reed of Jacksonville, Fla., Rheba Kohlhorst of St. Mary, Ohio, Rose Tulli of Lucerne, Calif. and Betty Ballard of St. Cloud, Fla.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Sunday, Aug. 26, at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. John Evangalista officiating and Craver's Funeral Home directing.
