A Covington County woman is set to go on trial in Escambia County circuit court this month for the Aug. 18, 2005, murder of a Damascus man.
Tanya Alexander was charged in the incident along with her boyfriend at the time, Ian Thomasson of River Falls, who has already pleaded guilty to the murder of 74-year-old Eugene Dubose. The trial is set to begin Sept. 17.
Dubose was found dead in the yard in front of his trailer on Judge Level Road after friends said he failed to join them for breakfast.
At the time, police said they tied the murder to Alexander and Thomasson because they cashed a check belonging to Dubose's ex-wife at an Andalusia grocery store.
Also on the 21st judicial circuit docket for Sept. 17 is the case of a Georgia man, Robert Ash, who is charged with murder in the vehicular homicide of a passenger in his Cadillac. Gerald Anthony Munday, 34, of Cave Springs, Ga., was killed in the incident.
The car ran under a tractor-trailer on Interstate 65 near Atmore in July 2005.
Officials said alcohol was a factor in the crash.
