A Brewton woman was killed Tuesday night while walking on U.S. 31 near her home.
Troopers said Tammy Stallworth Bell, 38, was wearing dark clothes and walking in the highway when she was struck and killed.
The accident occurred near the 74.5 mile marker on U.S. 31, about a mile north of Brewton. Bell lived at a nearby trailer park, officials said.
Bell was hit by a 2004 Dodge Stratus driven by Edmund Neil Minchew, 18, of Brewton.
He was injured and taken to D.W. McMillan Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Officials said there is no indication charges will be filed, but an investigation is ongoing.
