Brewton Youth Football opens season with sweep of East Milton

Brewton Youth Football League teams completed a three-game sweep of visiting East Milton, Fla. Saturday in the regular season opener for all three teams.
Michael Campbell ran for 180 yards and scored four touchdowns to lead the Brewton Mini Mites to a 32-0 victory. The Mini Mites also got a 53-yard touchdown run from quarterback Michael Smith.
Damarious Luckey, Alex Daugherty and D'Angelo Thomaso spearheaded Brewton's shutout effort on the defensive side.
The Brewton Mites also downed East Milton by a 32-0 margin.
Quarterback Kellyn Winn scored on a 45-yard touchdown run, while D'Andre Fraser, Treylon Watson and Lucas Knight all had rushing touchdowns.
The Mites' defense was led by Anterio Drakeford, who had a 45-yard fumble return.
Ethan Tyree, Ahmaud Taylor, Terry Samuel and DaQuain Kiser also made big defensive contributions.
The Brewton Midgets completed the three-game sweep of East Milton with a 25-2 victory.
Kameron Coleman returned a kickoff 75 yards and added rushing touchdowns of 20 and 25 yards. Eric Maye also had two rushing touchdowns of 30 and 45 yards.
Dominique Jackson led the Midgets on defense with a 55-yard interception return. Jaylon Herbert, Shannon Edwards, Dedrionne Lee and Michael Woods were all contributors to a defense that did not yield a touchdown.
The Brewton teams will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Ensley, Fla. to face Ensley Gold. Play gets underway with the Midgets with 9 a.m. followed by the Mini Mites at 10:30 a.m. and the Mites at 1:30 p.m.
