T.R. Miller runners take fifth at Foley

Senior Corey Cunningham and junior Geoff Youngblood both notched top 20 finishes to lead the T.R. Miller Tigers cross country team to a fifth place finish at Saturday's Foley Invitational.
The Tigers had a team score of 141 points, which put them right in the middle of the nine-team field.
Cunningham ran the 3.2-mile course in a time of 18:55, which put him in 14th place. Youngblood was next in line, as he was 19th in a time of 20:05.
T.R. Miller's other counters were Brandon Nelson in 22nd place at 20:09, Tyler Parker in 30th place at 21:08 and Jeff Gill in 56st place at 23:30.
Taylor Terry and Cole Pruitt also competed for the Tigers and had respective times of 24:04 and 26:00.
Senior Crystal Higdon was the lone T.R. Miller girl to compete in the varsity division and finished in 18th place with a time of 24:34.
T.R. Miller had a one-two finish in the girls middle school division. Amber Nelson led the pack with a time of 15:05 on the two-mile course, while Shelby Youngblood was two seconds back in second place at 15:07.
T.R. Miller is off until Sept. 15 when it competes at the University of South Alabama.
