Mr. Zera Cole, 91, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, in a local nursing facility. He was a native of Jackson, Mich., and had been a resident of the Brewton area since 1945. He served with the Merchant Marines, and worked as an oiler for Radcliff Materials for a number of years.
He is survived by his wife, Blanche Cole of Brewton; a son, Frank Cole of East Brewton; a daughter, Karen (John) Ward of Brewton; and two grandchildren, Troy Ward and Leanne Ward.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 2, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Craver's Funeral Home with the Rev. Lee Cadenhead officiating. Burial followed at Fort Crawford Cemetery with Craver's Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Buck Andrews, Ricky Andrews, Rusty Andrews, Ernie Jerkins, Gene Lamkin and Bobby Maddox.
