Mr. Marvin Anison Smyly, 93, died Friday, Sept. 21, 2007 in Satsuma. He was a native of Marengo County and a resident of Mobile County for most of his life. He retired from the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 119. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Zona Ruth Smyly.
He is survived by his second wife, Helen L. Smyly; eight sons, two daughters, and two stepsons, Thomas A. (Pauline) Smyly of St. George, Utah, Harold M. (Joyce) Smyly of Huntsville, James M. (Iise) Smyly of Salt Lake City, Utah, Melvin P. (Margaret) Smyly of Foley, Robert C. Smyly of Mt. Vernon, David R. (Elaine) Smyly of Spokane, Wash., Daniel M. Smyly of Stockbridge, Ga., Jeff Smyly of Oakland, Calif., Jean Kaura of Salt Lake City, Kathryn Smyly (David Voss) of Little Rock, Ark., Randy (Patsy) Dillehay of Satsuma, and Daniel (Lynne) Dillehay of James Island, S.C.; 32 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren;
Graveside funeral services were held, Tuesday, Sept. 25, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens with Radney Funeral Home in Saraland directing.
