Brewton grocery shoppers will be welcoming an old friend into the area as Piggly Wiggly opens its doors in the current building occupied by Southern Family Markets.
A grand opening event is planned at the store Wednesday beginning at 8 a.m., Booker said.
Booker said those shoppers who have enjoyed the customer service at Southern Family Market will enjoy the same atmosphere when the store makes its change.
Officials with the Birmingham-based Piggly Wiggly said the store is focused on families and their needs.
Similar grand opening celebrations will be held at other locations including Enterprise, Luverne, Pattville and Tallassee.
