JD takes loss at home

The Jefferson Davis Community College Lady Warhawks record fell to 5-16 in the Faulkner University Tournament last weekend and then 5-17 as they lost to Faulkner State Tuesday night in Brewton.
In the tournament at Faulkner, JDCC lost to Bevill State 3-1, Central Alabama 3-0, beat Faulkner 3-0, then lost to Lawson 3-2.
In the loss to Bevill State, Jasmine Jackson led the team with nine kills followed by Jessica Johnson’s eight kills. Brittney Rogers also had eight kills in the match. Jaclyn Seay led with 31 digs.
In the Central Alabama game, Seay had 20 digs along with Johnson’s five kills. In the win over Faulkner, Johnson led the team with nine kills followed by Roger’s six kills. Rogers also led with six service aces and 17 total attacks.
In the Lawson game, Rogers had 14 kills and 45 total attacks to lead JDCC.
Rogers also had five service aces along with Johnson’s five aces. Kathy Phillips had 48 assists in the match.
In Tuesday night’s loss to Faulkner State at home, Rogers and Jackson each had five kills. Phillips had 18 assists along with Jackson’s three service aces.
In Thursday nights game at home against Pensacola Junior College, the Warhawks lost 3-1 dropping their record to 5-18 overall.
After winning the opening set 30-26, JDCC lost the next three 30-26, 30-27, and 30-20.
Rogers had nine kills and 26 total attacks to lead JDCC. Tamara Lewis led with four service aces and Kathy Phillips had 28 assists.
JDCC’s next game will be a road game as the team heads to Southern Union. The game is set for Oct. 2. Game time has not been announced.
