Church welcomes former minister

The Flomaton Church of Christ will have its annual homecoming and gospel meeting beginning Sunday, Oct. 14, with evening services through Oct. 17. The guest speaker will be Minister William E. (Billy) Watkins of Kimball, Tenn.
Watkins was the full-time minister for the Flomaton Church of Christ from 1971 through 1974. He, originally from Birmingham, began preaching in 1968 and has preached for congregations in Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee. Since 1999 he has served as associate professor of Old Testament and History at Regions University in Montgomery.
For the past 20 years he has served as minister at the Kimball, Tenn. Church of Christ. He has made four mission trips to Russia and in 2007 he was appointed as elder on the Kimball Church.
He is married to the former Connie Bradley and they have four children.
Sunday School will be at 10 a.m. with worship at 11 a.m. Lunch will be served at noon and evening worship services will be at 2 p.m.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.
