Grocery shoppers found a new sign in town when Piggly Wiggly took over the Southern Family Market in Douglas Square Shopping Center.
Guests dodged a slight drizzle of rain outside and came inside to welcome Piggly Wiggly back to the line-up of grocery stores in town.
Kevin Ofenloch, director of operation support, and Greg Triola, regional maintenance manager, represented Piggly Wiggly’s corporate office and joined Brewton City Council and many of the city leaders to help the Greater Brewton Chamber of Commerce welcome the change.
Triola agreed and said he was happy to be back in Brewton.
Customers coming into the new Piggly Wiggly were met by some old faces and some new ones, and most of them seemed to be glad to see an “old familiar face.”
Bernace Odom was one of the first customers of the day.
