Mrs. Jeanette “Nettie” Dawkins Crawford, 79, of Ridge Road, died Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native and life long resident of the Brewton area. She was a member of Ridge Road Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Crawford; her second husband, Gordon Crawford; a daughter, Janice Crawford Leoneill; and a son, Ralph Eugene Crawford.
She is survived by one son, Terry Crawford of Brewton; four brothers, Donald Dawkins and Gary Dawkins, both of East Brewton, James Rothel Dawkins Sandford of North Carolina, and Claude Randol Dawkins of Columbia, S.C.; three sisters, Margaret Burnham, Elizabeth Hacker and Sue Janes, all of East Brewton; four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and a caregiver, Devona Hacker.
Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 5, at 10 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. James Crawford and the Rev. Frankie Phillips officiating. Burial followed at Ridge Road Baptist Church Cemetery with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
