The Brewton Youth Football teams swept three games from Tiger Point Thursday night from a rain postponed game from this past weekend. The Brewton Mini-Mites won 8-7 with the Mites winning 14-0 and the Midgets winning 29-0.
In the Mini-Mites win, Brewton scored on a safety by Arthur Berry in the first quarter. Alex Daugherty added a 7-yard touchdown run with two minutes left in the fourth quarter for the game-winning touchdown. Joshua Gunter, Michael Campbell, Tristan Turner and Trentez Johnson led the defense.
In the Mites game, Brewton scores came from quarterback Chardian Johnson’s 10-yard run and McHenry Coleman’s 55-yard run.
The defense was led by Treylon Watson, Larry Cheatham, Terry Samuel and Lucas Knight.
In the Midgets’ win, Brewton scored on a 70-yard run by Eric Maye and then the rain came that led to the postponement. Maye picked up where he left off as he went 60-yards for another touchdown. Kameron Coleman had a 65-yard touchdown run as Dominique Jackson added a 25-yard run.
For the Brewton defense, Kieon Smith had two interceptions as Jalen Jones, Ivory Miller, Traq Stallworth and Cardarius Fountain helped preserve the shutout.
