Mrs. Christine Jones Mayo, 79, died Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2007, at her residence after an extended illness. She was a native and longtime resident of Conecuh County, and was a former resident of LaPort, Ind. She was a retired seamstress with Vanity Fair Millis and was a member of the Macedonia Holiness Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlis M. Mayo; and a son, Michael Ryan.
She is survived by a brother, Earl (Frances) Jones of Greensboro; a sister, Mayrine Smith of Flomaton; a daughter-in-law, Debbie Ryan of LaPort; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Oct. 20, at 11 a.m. at Hartwood Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Smith and the Rev. Lamar Butts officiating. Burial followed at Hartwood Methodist Church Cemetery in Range, with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were Keith Pugh, Marcus Bartlett, Titus Bartlett, Clayton Bartlett, Frank Gresham, and Marion Bartlett.
