Domestic violence victims in Escambia County have a new safe haven not far from home.
The Lighthouse in Robertsdale will now accept new residents from Escambia County, taking over for the crowded Penelope House in Mobile.
The switch from the Penelope House to the Lighthouse occurred at the beginning of October and Armstrong said people can get all the help they need in Robertsdale.
Penelope House and the Lighthouse administration agreed the switch should be made for Escambia County victims to go to Robertsdale instead of Mobile.
