A Friday night accident on U.S. 31 found a W.S. Neal senior bound for a Mobile hospital by LifeFlight.
Katie Goolsby was traveling north on U.S. 31 when the vehicle she was driving went out of control and ended up in a thicket of pines.
Goolsby left the roadway and clipped some pine trees after leaving the opposite side of the road.
Another passerby made a stop at the accident scene and made a call to 911. The victim's aunt, Ginger Halford, was among the first to arrive at the scene.
Halford told the victim she had called 911 and asked whom she could call for the victim.
LifeFlight was called to transport the victim to USA's Trauma Center in Mobile.
Goolsby said Katie underwent surgery and now has a titanium rod from her hip to her kneecap.
Katie is expected to be released from USA's Trauma Center by Wednesday.
