A slogan often heard among those associated with the Greater Brewton Habitat for Humanity group is &#8220pay it forward” - and that is just what the group plans to do next month in Brundidge.
Building coordinators for the July blitz held by the Brewton group were Terrence Breckenridge and Rusty Miller. The two men said they felt a calling to be involved in the event planned in Brundidge, Glaize said.
The GBHH will join Pike County Habitat and the Troy University Habitat campus chapters for a building blitz set for Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
After meeting the director of the Pike County group during a statewide meeting last spring, Glaize said even more connections have been made between Brewton and the Habitat group there.
Rush is the daughter of Brewton Habitat President Bobi Rush.
Volunteers to make the road trip to Brundidge have already begun offering their services, Glaize said.
The weekend-long blitz in Brundidge will result in a safe, decent, affordable house for a family that has relocated to Pike County due to event surrounding Hurricane Katrina.
Anyone interested in joining the blitz project is asked to call the Greater Brewton Habitat for Humanity offices at 867-0095.
