Lady Eagles win first game of season

The W.S. Neal Lady Eagles took an early 10-1 lead and Freda Folmar added 24 points as W.S. Neal recorded their first victory of the season Monday at Excel 38-22.
W.S. Neal (1-1) opened the game with a 10-0 run as Folmar had 8 quick points and Katie Elliott added 2 as Neal had a 10-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.
Excel would cut the Eagle lead to 10-5 before W.S. Neal took a 24-9 lead with 1:32 left before the half courtesy of Folmar and Rachel Davis.
Excel would then cut the Eagle lead to 24-11 before Folmar added two points to give Neal a 26-11 lead at the half.
Folmar outscored Excel 22-11 at the half.
Elliott added a 3-pointer for the Eagles as W.S. Neal took a 29-13 lead and then a 35-18 at the end of the third quarter.
Excel would only added four points in the fourth as Neal added three as W.S. Neal cruised to the 38-22 victory.
W.S. Neal will be in action again on Nov. 26 when they head to Georgiana.
