At least two new float entries will join Santa and other longtime participants for the annual Brewton Christmas Parade Saturday.
The parade, sponsored by the Greater Brewton Area Chamber of Commerce, begins at 2 p.m.
Habitat for Humanity and the American Red Cross are entering for the first time.
With the help of donations from Emily West, Swift, Bondurant and South Alabama Metal Sales, the cabin is almost ready.
Santa will arrive on the fire truck throwing tons of candy. Mrs. Claus will also be riding in the parade throwing candy as well. There will be members of Youth Leadership to direct traffic and keep the crowd out of the way of the parade.
After the parade, Santa has promised to sit in the City Park gazebo. He will talk to the children and hand out surprises.
The 63 entries in the parade include: police, color guard, chamber president, First St. Siloam Baptist Church, T.R. Miller cheerleaders, T.R. Miller band, Twirlstars, Robert Maddox, Don and Marshann Jackson, Fred and Cheryl Barton, Mrs. Claus, Mayor Ted Jennings, Pack 42 Cubscouts, Christ Kingdom Ministry Center, Edward Ryals, Church's Chicken, Escambia Small Motors, Murder Creek Irregulators, Escambia Car Care, Calvary's Way Church, Conecuh National Forest, Brewton Girl Scouts, Motorvadors for Christ Motorcycle Club, Second St. Siloam Baptist Church, Miss Gulf Coast, Bean Queens, Greater Brewton Habitat for Humanity, Kiwanis Club, East Brewton Mayor Terry Clark, W.S. Neal cheerleaders, W.S. Neal Band, W.S. Neal junior varsity cheerleaders, East Brewton Youth Football League and Cheerleaders, First United Methodist Church, B Communications, Escambia County Historical Society, East Escambia ARC, State Farm, CC of Brewton Red Hats and last, but certainly not least, Santa Claus.
Those floats that will be judged are First St. Siloam Baptist Church, Christ Kingdom Ministry Center, Calvary's Way Church, St. Mark Baptist Church, Marie Madison/Mary Clark, Try Me II Drag Racing, Gateway to Heaven Church, Wal-Mart, Escambia County Fence Company, David's Catfish House, Ridge Road Baptist Church, Second St. Siloam Baptist Church, Bean Queens, First United Methodist Church, and East Escambia American Red Cross.
The parade will line up in East Brewton on Shoffner Street. It will travel down Forrest Avenue, over the bridge on Mildred Street, to the main intersection at the railroad tracks. It will turn onto St. Joseph Street to Belleville Avenue and will disband on side streets of McLellan, Rankin and Granberry.
