WSNMS girls continue losing streak

The W.S. Neal Eagles continued their losing streak this week when they dropped two games to Carver and Brewton Middle School.
W.S. Neal fell to 1-6 with the losses.
In the game against Brewton Middle School, the Tigers took a 2-0 when Taylor Guthrie put the Tigers ahead with 5:50 left in the first quarter. Kaitlyn Hadaway tied the game at 2-2 when she connected on a pair of free throws with 3:45 left in the first.
The Eagles added a bucket with 55 seconds left in the fist as they took a 4-2 lead at the end of the first.
The second quarter saw limited points as Jerrica Watson hit one of two free throws to bring the Tigers within 4-3 as that was the only points in the quarter as Neal held a 4-3 lead at the half.
Brewton took control of the game and the third quarter as the Tigers scored eight points in the quarter as Brewton held an 11-6 lead at the end of the third.
Brewton continued to use good defense as they held W.S. Neal to only 1 point in the fourth quarter as the Tigers scored 3 and went on to win 14-7.
W.S. Neal was scheduled to take on Escambia County on Thursday and will be traveling to McCall on Monday for a 6 p.m. start.
In a Monday game against Carver, the W.S. Neal Lady Blue Eagles only scored points in the third quarter as the Eagles lost 24-4.
