It was tough decision time early Saturday morning as nearly 100 children walked the toy aisles of Wal-Mart trying to pick a present for Christmas.
The Brewton Sportsman's Club helped Santa deliver gifts a little bit early as children and their parents shopped for clothes and toys.
The local civic organization has been taking a large number of children shopping for Christmas for more than 20 years, Powell said.
Donations from individuals, churches and businesses helped fund the shopping trip.
Friendly Pals member Pearl Stallworth helped check off names Saturday morning as families left with their gifts.
With such a large number of children shopping on a specially designated day and time, a large number of adults are required to keep the event moving smoothly.
Co-chairman J.W. Stewart and Lorenzo Jones and Glen Mallard with Friendly Pals also offered help shopping, Powell said.
Shopping began at 5:30 Saturday morning, giving families a chance to spread out in the store and shop.
