Students looking to complete a bachelor's degree can do so in Brewton beginning in January.
Registration is under way for Huntingdon College's Brewton-based degree completion program, whose classes lead to a bachelor of science in business management.
Classes will be held one night a week in five-week sessions at Jefferson Davis Community College's Brewton campus.
McBride and Huntingdon president J. Cameron West signed an agreement in September for the new program, which Huntingdon also operates at Enterprise Ozark Community College; in Bay Minette and Daphne; at Huntingdon's home campus; and at branch campuses of Jefferson State Community College in Birmingham.
McBride and West have said the program will help boost Brewton's image for prospective industries, because local residents have an opportunity to earn a bachelor's degree in the community.
The program, which operates through Huntingdon's School of Business and Professional Studies, is open to adults who have earned at least 30 transferable college credit hours from accredited institutions and who desire to complete their undergraduate degrees.
Prospective students can apply online or by mail and should submit official transcripts from all colleges previously attended.
For information about the new program, call Rosemary Jernigan at 809-1553 or visit www.huntingdon.edu/sbps.
Classes begin the week of Jan. 14.
Courses will meet Thursday evenings in Pete Hall on the JDCC campus, and financial aid is available.
